Fallout 3 keeps freezing in windows 7

When i clicked new game, my game crashed. I searched for topics all over the net, and i changed the numer of cores to 2, deleted the intro video, installed the d3d9. It doesn't come up with an error or anything, just freezes. Can anybody help me, i'm stating to get desperate. My PC is on windows 7, and certainly has high enough specs to run the game properly. Like Elek, FO3 isn't optimized for newer hardware [can't take advantage of it. Compare it to Skyrim, which runs beautifully on new hardware compared to FO3]. The picture just freezes, and i'm still onlt in vault at the birthday party The farthest i've been able to come without a crash I know it's not optimized, but i just feel that it's rubbish if i have to play it on windows xp. There must be a solution, i just don't know what to do anymore. Did you do this? It sounds odd, but the built-in sound driver for windows 7 and vista conflicts a fair bit with fallout 3.

The configuring is the exact same. Fix 2 - Installing the 1. I highly reccomend installing the latest 1. It will fix a lot of bugs and there is a chance that you will fix your problem.

If you have the Steam version of the game, do not install it, because Steam automatically updates your games. Fix 3 - Compatibility mode. Right click your Fallout 3 shortcut if you don't have one, make one and click "Properties" then click on the "Compatibility" tab and check "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and then from the drop-down menu choose "Windows XP Service Pack 2 ". Fix 4 - Limiting the cores. It will limit the game to 1 core, but it might not crash.

Fix 5 - Deleting the intro. This might only work if your Fallout 3 is crashing right at the beginning. Go to the "fallout. After you do that, save the file and that should fix it.

Fix 6 - Disabling autosaving. Some users have reported that if you disable autosaving, it should stop crashing. Fix 7 - Resolutions. For example x Bethesda made it so if you have Intel HD graphics, then you cannot play the game.

Method 3 1- Start the Fallout 3 Launcher. In the graphic settings, remove ALL anti-aliases. Select Windows Vista service pack 1. Fallout 3 was not made for Windows 7. So you need to run it in Windows XP or Vista. Don't Panic!

Nothing will change on your computer. Just that when you start the game, your computer will make the switch, it's not even visible. Remove them all except one. Fallout 3 cannot run on more than 1 Core, you have to deactivate the others.

It should then stop freezing. Method 5 1. Change the install path not required for XP 2. Install the updated Games for Windows Live client just for initial validation 3.

Make some simple ini changes 4. Avoid mods until you know the game works after leaving Vault Method 6 The game looks for Games For Windows Live at initial launch, it is not required to play the game once it has initialized. Get the latest Games for Windows Marketplace Client from the link below and install it if you bought the game from Steam, that version still requires it.

That should fix you right up.
