Alex skolnick trio veritas rapidshare
Thanks for sharing this and I'm really glad you decided to go for it btw, no one ever has to feel awkward or hesitant about contributing anything constructive to the forum. Just in time almost for my birthday — thanks for the present Alex! People do try to pigeon-hole everyone and everything. I get that a lot, not only from the type of music I listen to, or don't listen to, but also from the way I dress and the type of work I do.
If I told you, you would have a pre-conceived notion of what I should look like and how I should act, as well as personality traits I'm an accountant, just for the record. I have a different track in mind for myself, and plan on breaking some rules not laws, so don't panic to get there. I am not conventional, but I am semi-traditional.
I am a huge contradiction and think most metalheads are. This album proves that and stands for knowing the truth, not just the perception. Thanks again Alex for breaking rules and barriers and showing others that it can be done and you don't have to maintain the status quo. Know that you're doing the right thing by going against the status quo in your profession and setting an example for others.
It's good to hear that we have so many like minds out there- even in the accounting world. If we continue to get those who 'get it' to rally around 'the truth,' whether its in an accounting firm or on a concert stage, we can take our lives back from those who have their own agenda and interests which are directly opposed to ours. They are trying to turn all of us into little 'cookie cutter' images of what they think we're supposed to be- its time to let them know just where they can put their cookie cutters.
Anyway, brilliant record. I gave it four and a half stars would have been five if I wasn't writing for a metal publication.
Everyone on our team was stoked to see what you wrote. So nice to see a well written piece from a metalhead who 'gets it. No, actually, the album is great.
A terrific fourth album. And a great rendition of Fade to Black. Looking forward to seeing you play again in NYC. Some musicians and listeners spend their lives trying to mold themselves to fit definitions metal, jazz, alternative, gen x, hipster etc…. Others, like myself prefer to defy them. That's what creates interesting art.
Glad to hear you're open to it. These definitions are not defined by the individual but by media- the cultural equivalent of a soulless corporate boardroom. And as you can see, definitions are constantly changing as are we, as a people and as individuals who are constantly growing. Really liking the sample on Youtube; alas none of my normal sources for music in Ireland have the CD or the MP3s so 7digital, iTunes etc.
Is there worldwide distribution on this yet, or should I just go hit up BB? Edit: I'm a twit. In his personal […]. Save my name, email, and website in this browser for the next time I comment. Can you handle the truth?
A lot of people are closed minded or just quick to judge I guess. Hope we get to see AST our here this year……. Awesome, Alex! I couldn't agree more. Hit the nail on the head with this one. The website has the following words about the filmmaker, Tom Shadyac: The pursuit of truth has been a lifelong passion for Shadyac. All the best to you, Matt, and Nathan, with the release of Veritas!
And Oz certainly has a deep well of tones and techniques. You will absolutely not hear the same style of shredding song after song. Fractal Guitar 2 by Stephan Thelen. As a big fan of the first Fractal Guitar album I had to restrain myself not to buy it before Bandcamp Friday arrived. No-brainer for me the more as Stephan Thelen now is part of the MoonJune family.
And to repeat myself: Music that is as abstract as accessible, a real treat! Stephan, bei Teil 3 bin ich auch wieder dabei :- Carsten Pieper. Salute to the Sun by Matthew Halsall. I love this album, my wife does and my kids as well. Perfect music when you need to stop and relax. Smooth and simple yet engaging and complex. It's difficult to pick one track but if I have to its The Energy of life.
A balm on your tired soul in those difficult times. Must have. Maciej Starzyk. Wabi Sabi by Sven Wunder. The bassist radically expands the song's chordal parameters, thrumming along beneath the repetitive guitar figures and making Metallica swing.
The Alex Skolnick Trio has gradually grown from an interesting novelty to a thoroughly respectable jazz-funk-rock unit, one that may yet allow its leader to be reviewed or interviewed without the words "heavy metal" appearing anywhere in the copy. AllMusic relies heavily on JavaScript.
